The Ramones Pet Sematary

The guys in The Ramones have a storied history with punk rock, and while many people cite The Sex Pistols, The Clash, or other bands as their favorite, I have to cite The Ramones as one of the best punk rock bands of all time. The band pushed the limits of punk rock and yet, from what I saw in their documentary, didn't get a whole lot of money for their endeavors. This can be argued by any different people, but I'm straying from the point. The Ramones have released so many albums that it's hard to tie them down to one solid release. I recommend the Ramones Box Set "Weird Tales of the Ramones" which captures The Ramones at their absolute best. It also comes with an awesome 3-D comic book! The song that we're featuring today is "Pet Sematary" a classic Ramones tune. The boys are strolling through a real life cemetary and singing along. So without further ado, here is the video for The Ramones "Pet Sematary":

If you aren't familiar with Stephen King, you might want to check out his novel "Pet Sematary" in which The Ramones are mentioned quite a bit. The Ramones made the album "Brain Drain" in 1989 which was heavily inspired by the Stephen King novel. While The Ramones weren't always this dark, the album definitely inspired me to pick up more of The Misfits Discography, which is one of my favorite bands in punk rock as well. Danzig, not so much, but definitely The Misfits...which lead me to like AFI's early work too.
