Nike + Independent Trucks Collaboration

Nike keeps the hits coming by making yet another collaboration into the skateboarding world. The shoe above is a tribute to the Independent trucks brand from nike sb.

I'm not sure what I think...

Blind Skateboards You Break One You Get One

Blind skateboards is one of my favorite skateboard companies ever. In a recent skateboard ad they have stated that if you break a skateboard deck from their special line of skateboards, within 90 days of purchase, they will give you a new one.

That's right, this is not like the offers from back in the day where they will test to see if it was a manufacturer defect first, this is the real deal. If you break a blind deck you are entitled to a new one. That is if you skate so hard within 90 days, that you break one.

I have a hard time breaking decks, and when that does happen, I just buy a new one.

Blind skateboards has created a brand worth following, especially since this is more than your average skateboarding offer. Blind skateboards is doing something grand, so check them out.

Supra Supranos Shoe

Supra Supranos

Big news out of the Supra camp is surprisingly NOT about the Skytop it's about the latest shoe that features an American Currency on the shoe! That's right, the Benjamins are displayed in the shoe. These aren't half bad, and Supra has definitely been doing well this time around in the realm of shoes. With Muska's Skytop being #1 in a lot of circles, these will find their way into the hands of skateboarders and loungers alike.

Designed by Jim Greco. Simple design with a classic look. Vulcanized rubber outsole. Extra heel protection molded into a comfortable high memory polyurethane insole. Full length midsole injected with SupraFoam providing entire foot impact resistance, optimal shoe flex and board feel. Mesh tongue allowing foot ventilation. Thin soft collar and tongue foam.

Jim Greco's design is a nice contrast to the Skytop, and I really like it. You can pick up a pair of these shoes from amazon.com by click here, I believe they are about half of the price of the skytop, so you're in good hands.

Antihero Skateboards Vans TNT II

I’ve been a big fan of the Vans TNT series, and I’m wearing my second pair of the series of their shoes. They are durable, and made for skateboarding. Vans didn’t really skimp out on these shoes, as they are light weight, absorb impact and all around comfortable.

The edition that I didn’t see in the stores when I was buying my TNT’s was the Antihero Skateboards TNT’s! That’s right the TNT series lives up to its name by crossing into the Antihero Skateboards wagon, but what surprised me most was the sheer fact that they are yellow.

Would you wear a yellow shoe?

I’m not sure who thought of this one, but the crossover is cool. The shoes are already comfortable and last through some pretty hard skate sessions, but is this really necessary? I’m not completely sold on this one yet, but then again…I’m a hard sell.

I’ll stick to black and white.

You can get yourself a pair of the Antihero Skateboards TNT vans by clicking here.

I recommend the black and white ones. That’s what I ride in…until I get some new shoes.

Element Skatebaords and Hip Hop

Apparently to get a sponsorship going you no longer need to be a pro skater, or even skateboard very well.

There are two routes you could take, you could make a hit song called "Kick Push" or you could start your own Skateboard company called Ice Cream.

Aesop Rock even talked about how he was getting calls for skateboarding sponsorship, and he doesn't even skateboard any more.

Weird.

Element Skateboards and hip hop star Lupe Fiasco have joined forces and will be producing a run or two of skateboards. I'm not a big fan of Lupe Fiasco, but he did get some attention from the skateboarding community for that kick push song.

Element skateboards is going to give some lucky fans the chance to play graphic designer and produce the Lupe Fiasco deck! You can check that out by clicking Here.

Lupe Fiasco has a new cd out now, you can pick that up here.

DVS Shoe Co. vs. Louis Vuitton

Now I'm not a big fan of Louis Vuitton at all, and I don't care about high fashion. But when I hear about skateboarding news and the giant clothing manufacturing world, I have to chime in. Apparently DVS shoes were infringing on the LV trademark by manufacturing products that were similar or looked too much like the Louis Vuitton brand. I'm not sure which products they are referring to, but apparently it was grave enough for DVS to stop the manufacturing of products. Too bad I never saw these products and never will.

This is definitely a sign that Skateboarding is growing out of the slums, underground, streets, and local spots and creating a global market for itself greater than ever.

When you get guys like Louis Vuitton suing you for infringing on their trademark, things are going good for you. This reminds me of the time when Kr3w was getting sued by J. Crew for the same reasons.

If you're into Dvs Shoes, check out the latest and greatest from DVS Shoes by clicking Here.

Nasa on Your Skate Deck

What if Nasa produced skateboard decks? One thing would be certain, the graphics would be breath taking, with their deep library of photographic prowess, our universe would be displayed on the underside of all skateboards produced by the Space company.

But since Nasa is not in the skateboarding business we have to settle for others that do the job for them.

Check out these two decks from the company plus41, which has some Hubble Telescope shots in the midst of the blackness of dark wood and 7 ply construction. I am not sure how much they cost, or where you can get your paws on these decks, but they are definitely a sight to see. Check out the plus41 site for more by clicking here.

Acapulco Gold Porn Skateboard Decks

I never thought I'd see this again. In the mid 90's there was one skateboard company out there that was willing to put adult graphics on skateboards; World Industries and their band of brands. NO! I do not mean adult themed, I mean full blown porn skateboarding decks.

Since that time, I noticed a trend in more kid friendly decks and while some try to push the envelope, most are somewhat family friendly.

The pics above are also from the latest collection, but somewhat more kid friendly...

If you're over 18, and really want to see the porn decks from Acapulco Gold..Click Here and check it out. It's one of the last links on the page....good luck.

As far as the story of the 90's skateboard revolution, Steve Rocco, Blind Skateboards, World Industries and the time I was referring to, you can buy "The Man Who Souled The World Dvd" by clicking below. It is worth it...trust me.

Santa Claus Vans Slip On

These are super rare, and I don't believe that my store will end up receiving these, but I had to say something about this.

The Vans slip on line up has been taking major hits in my view, and the biggest problem that I see with it, is the sheer fact that after Christmas these are going to be somewhat irrelevant.

On the other hand, Vans seems to be following the NIKE bandwagon and putting out ultra rare, limited edition shoes every other day. This is just like the recent Skytops craze which is sweeping the nation. I for one am not 100% sold on the idea of the Muska Skytops, nor am I wanting a pair of Santa Claus Vans Slip Ons...although they are skulls with Santa hats on...so if your perspective is skewed, maybe they aren't Santa Claus after all.

Johnny Ramone Vans Slip On

We've seen the Vans slip on come in many shapes, forms and artwork. However, not to be outdone in the sell out department, Johnny Ramone of Ramones fame now has his own Vans Slip on.

I'm not sure why we need a Ramones/Vans crossover, but we might as well get some Ramones Vans Slip Ons...what haven't they branded with Ramones iconography? It's weird.

Andrew Reynolds Montage Video

Andrew Reynolds always surprises me. He's this skinny regular height guy, not unlike Tony Hawk in his build, but he throws himself off stairs, and does some of the sickest street tricks seen anywhere. Recently he's gaining waves for his clothing line that is high end in style, function, and fabric, and of course the Baker team which is stacked with professional skateboarders that just do the best they can to showcase skateboarding as more than just a daredevil sport.

If you're looking to get a Baker Skateboards, click Here to see our line up of decks.

William Spencer - AKA Insane Skateboarding

William Spencer is a skateboarder that I never really even heard of, until this morning while on Youtube! This kid has some balls! From his old school moves to his innovated landings, he's got some mad tricks. Not only that, he's technically sound too, with some major new school flip tricks and standards that you do not really see that much. Then the ending, a full front flip onto a skateboard from the heights of ten stairs!

This kid is amazing. You have to check this out.

Rob & Big Season 3 Trailer

Rob & Big's latest opus will begin in January and you're going to love it! MTV might not play music videos, but they definitely know how to throw a good show online, when they let the people that made Jackass lead the way! Each 30 minute show captures the skateboarding lifestyle with urban culture....

Yet I wonder why I personally like it?

I'm 24 years old, I'm not a pro skater, and I'm not fat.

Weird.

Muska Brooklyn Projects Skytop

Just when you thought the Muska Skytop couldn't get any more variations, here comes yet another one. This one is a one off set from Brooklyn Projects and Supra and is NOT, I repeat, is NOT available from any other source.

Well, that probably doesn't stop people from putting them on ebay. But that's beyond the point. How awesome do you think Chad Muska is feeling right about now? He's got the hottest shoe in the market, the company I work for have run out of all the Muska's and now they have more issued?

Skateboarding is really crossing over and Muska seems to have his head in the right position for this great shoe.

As for the Muska Floral Print, The Muska Polka Dot, and The Muska Croc edition you can actually find them from my skate shop...that's right, you can get your pair from me at a low price and they ship from Amazon, a trusted source. So get yourself a pair of Muska Skytops before you're left behind. Click HERE to get yourself a pair of Skytops, not the NS ones, but choose from three different kinds of Supra Muska Skytops!

Jackass 2.5 Free For All

Jackass 2.5

You already know Jackass, you already know the antics that made the show a hit, and the movie a box office smash. Well it’s coming back in two forms right away. First off they are debuting a movie semi-sequel the 19th of December via their website, Jackassworld.com, and will be available for online viewing for two weeks at a time!

Jackass 2.5 is a completely new sixty minute mini-film that will capture the exploits of the crew through some more stunts, funny situations and reckless abandon.

Afterwards it will be available for purchase on dvd and through Blockbuster to rent. It’s going to be a great round of fund. Of course, no one at work is going to get much work done, all things considered.

As for the second offering, they are going to begin filming Jackass 3 next year and will promptly throw out a theatrical release that will have Johnny Knoxville and company in some amazingly fun situations.

I for one am going to be so stoked to see it!

You can pick up the complete Jackass Box Set, as well as the rest of the Jackass Movies online right now. Just click HERE and save a few cents while you’re at it.

The Art of Skate Trailer

Always quick to help out the locals, here is an awesome trailer for a skateboarding video coming out sooner than later from a Southern California local, Ryan Tanner. The film is called The Art of Skate and it looks like something you're going to want to be a part of. From the footage, there's something for everyone, street, freestyle and old school tricks mixed in with some quick edits and clean transitional spots.

Check out the vid, support local skateboarding, wherever you are, and never give up.

Day in The Life of Rodney Mullen Video

You thought your life was complex?

Well try being Rodney Mullen. While he does seem to be enjoying his daily routine in this classic moment from 411 vm, he does have his own sets of problems. Mainly in ordering wheels, talking to the writers and editors over at Big Brother Magazine (rip) and the occasional mishap with the security guards over at Borders bookstore.

All in all Rodney is a stand up guy, and here he is in a classic example of his daily life. Enjoy!

If that got you psyched, and you want to check out Rodney Mullen's pro skate deck, including is super experimental lightweight skateboard, click HERE for all the latest Rodney Mullen stuff from Almost Skateboards (Rodney's Sponsor)

Skateboard Graphic of the Year

Zero skateboards graphic

Zero Skateboards has been one of my favorite skateboard companies ever. I rode 4 Zero Skateboard decks before I switched to the latest skateboard from Girl. They are strong, they are designed with some great elements, and now they have the praise of the best graphic this year by Skateboard Mag. Not too shabby. If you want to check out the latest and greatest from zero, you can do so and save a few pennies by clicking here for the latest skateboard decks from Zero Skateboards.

Skim Skateboard Video Footage

In this video you will see Simon Woodstock ride and perform street skateboarding tricks on a skim skateboard, snowboard skateboard, and a skateboard with no wheels on. Simon Woodstock had a nice run in skateboarding before getting sued by Steve Rocco and forcing him to leave skateboarding forever.

This video footage is amazing, and I for one can't believe anyone can perform tricks on such a thing.

Fall Transmission 2007 Video

Bellevue, Wa. Doesn't really come to mind when considering skateboarding, but this video showcases some great mini-ramp footage from that skate park. I'm about 15 minutes away from the park driving, and this really does hype it up well. I'll have to check out the park asap, cause I'm itching for a little mini-ramp action.

Andrew Reynolds This Is Skateboarding Video

As if Baker Skateboards needed anymore press, this video was recommended to me and it sure does exhibit one of the best skateboarders around. Andrew Reynolds has been doing things his way for a while now, and if you haven't seen any of his parts lately, you're going to be impressed. This really skinny kid has been jumping sets of stairs and high altitude drops for a while now, but he's been doing it with a flair and style that most skateboarders are missing out on these days. I have also noticed that his line of clothing entitled, Altamont, has been getting major press for having some of the finest materials and pricey items. I know from working at a skate shop that his jeans retail for 74.99 a piece. Too rich for me, but hey, to each their own. The above video is from The video entitled "This is Skateboarding" and can be purchased online.

As for Andrew Reynold's Baker Pro Board, you can pick up his Neck Tat Skate Deck here for 44.50.

Supra Skytop NS Edition

Chad Muska keeps coming out with these shoes and they keep selling out in all locations. I work for a skateboarding company and we had a limited number of his shoes in stock and they are all gone. They took two days to sell out all sizes and now we are left with nothing.

However, if you're down with Amazon.com and are willing to check out my personal no nonsense web page you can order yourself a pair of these super limited shoes. Click Here and check out the Muska Skytops in Flora, Polka Dot and Black Croc Patterns and have them shipped via Amazon.com

How come Amazon hasn't sold out of the shoes? Simply because I believe no one knows that they have them on Amazon, because Amazon isn't really a big skate shop, although a lot of online skate shops are realizing the power of the retailer to crossover.

The limited Muska NS (non skate) shoes are plain and white. Perfect for the non skater.

Bam & Tony Hawk How To Drop In

This is a great video about dropping into vert. They make some sound judgment calls in regards to leaning your weight forward instead of over compensating your lean backwards and falling.

I know the first time I dropped into a ramp, I fell backwards, when dropping in remember to lean forward and you're in.

They don't really discuss the fact that you are essentially going to have to go backwards (fakie) once you begin your descent from the other side. But that's for another day. For now, enjoy this cool "how to" from two pro's that skate vert for a living...well...at least Tony does.

Girl Skateboards High Five I5 Video

Girl Skateboards is a great company. They have some of the best skateboarders in the world skateboarding for them, and they unleashed a great street skate video back a few years. Here it is, in short form of course, and it shows that the staying power of Girl Skateboards is still greatly shown today.

I for one ride a Koston Tye Dye Edition Skateboard and it serves me well. It's a little thinner than my usual choice for a skateboard, but it helps with the flip tricks, and allows me to bail faster in case I know I'm going to get hurt. It's a little on the heavy side, but oh well.

The video is awesome, Girl skateboards is still kicking today, and they are providing some awesome skateboard videos and decks for the world.
